How Does the Flame Guardian Work?

When installed within the laser cutting area, this innovative device monitors the active Infrared light levels, serving as a constant monitor for fire detection.

Upon bootup, the Flame Guardian initiates a learning process of the ambient Infrared light. It then observes the operating laser for any sign of potential flames that might spark an uncontrolled fire.

In the event of detecting a potential fire hazard, the Flame Guardian will audibly alert nearby users, enabling early fire intervention. This timely notification empowers users to take proactive measures, preventing potential catastrophic losses to both the machine and the surrounding premises.

Reliability: Flame Guardian is extremely reliable in detecting a flame with default settings. We have tested in the 1000’s of times with no reading errors. You can be sure that it will be a reliable monitor for flames in your laser.

Considerations: Flame Guardian measures Infra Red light. It is sensitive to sunlight and changing ambient IR light levels. Meaning that if you open a door or window, it might be neccessary to press the recalibrate button to adjust for the changing IR conditions. Flame Guardian is not suitable for mounting in direct sunlight.
